THE NEWS BREAK IS VERY ENCOURAGING FOR THE FORECLOSURE BUSINESS, THANK YOU FOR SHARING THIS INFORMATION. WHEN STARTING A FORECLOSURE BUSINESS, WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO START IF YOUR CASH FLOW IS NOT A LOT? CAN YOU CLEAN PROPERTIES ONLY FIRST, THEN ADD A SERVICE LATER WITH SUBCONTRACTORS? GREAT VIDEO!!!! THANK YOU

    Renea,

Thanks for the comment. I help people all the time start their foreclosure cleaning trashout business that have to start off small. Basically, you will do the work yourself until your funds grow to where you can start accepting more foreclosed properties to be cleaned.

You will have to be able to perform all the services required to do business in the trashout industry. You can also partner with others if funds are tight at first. Just make sure to do it all legit and have a written agreement in place.

Anthony, Thanks for the video. It was what I expected to see in an abandoned home.

Do you try to find “homes” for furniture left behind, or is it all going to the dump?
In regard to the dead grass, do you leave it, or do you offer a yard maintenence service?
    What about swimming pools?
I saw holes in the wall; do you patch it, or is that separate? Do you need a handyman license for that?
What happens to the excess flooring and paint left behind? Trash?
    What about hazerdous waste?
    Do you change the locks?
    Do you take pictures?
Does anyone inspect before and after?

  6. Anthony Simonie Says:

    Jennifer,

All of the services you mentioned are up for grabs in the foreclosure cleaning trashout industry. Hazardous removal requirements vary from municipality to municipality.
Sometimes you can be successfull with donating useful items found in the foreclosed peoperty, but most times, goodwill etc are too back logged and the banks want the items removed quickly.

Foreclosed properties are inspected both before and after trashout services are performed.

    Anthony,
I am very interested in starting this type of business. This is something that I have looked into but didn’t know exactly how to get it started. My biggest problem is that I don’t have the money. What do you suggest?

    Jeanne,

Congrats on making the decision to get into the foreclosure cleaning trashout business.
You will need a little money reserved for start up. The amount depends on how you will set up your foreclosure cleaning business (Will you do the work yourself or sub it out), what equipment you have already, and whether you partner with someone else to perform the trashouts.
I have seen many people in your same scenario trying to get into the foreclosure cleaning business, and one othe best things you could do is partner with someone who can help absorb the cost of start up.

    Keep the focus.

    Anthony,
Thank you for getting back to me quickly. I do have a couple of people that I would be doing this with. Luckily, my father was a carpenter and built many houses which the trade trickled down in my family. Even tho they are retired now, they would be guiding me on some of the repair work. I have always been willing to work hard and do all the work that I can before brining in anyone else. I am working on getting the initial start up of your course first. Thank you again and will be ordering my kit very soon hopefully.
